Quiet Time entry 2
Sunday, Jan 21, 2007
Woh! This quiet time was not like normal quiet times, it was special, so I wanted to share it! At first I started with the Experiencing God book, den after that I had INTENDED to proceed to my Bible. But then I remember something! Eureka! lol... anyways, I dunno why, but during before the PnW or some time dunno when, i suddenly had a thought! How did the Israelites cross the Red Sea?? The Red Sea has a maximum depth of 2500 m, and an average depth of 500m. It was, even at the narrowest point, roughly 25km. Imagine! 10 times your NAPFA 2.4km run!! And they were people of ALL ages and sizes! Oh nos!! They must be going like 'ARGH MY LEGS!!!!'
By then I was feeling very down, so I thought of asking Sylvester. Den I saw on Wikipedia or on some News website or smthing, saying that the translation for the Red Sea is yam suph. And since there were no vowels in Hebrew text, yam suph, which means literally "Sea Reed", could actually be yam soph, which means the Sea at the end of the world. Now, the Egyptians had called places like the Indian Ocean and Red Sea the sea at the end of the world. And now, even theologians argue about the Crossing of the Red Sea, which is still inconclusive, cause there is no proven evidence of the Red Sea being the sea which the Israelites crossed. (incidently, there was a hub in the past about chariot wheels being found on the bottom of the Red Sea, but that is inconclusive, and if I am right, the wheel could not be found again after it was first discovered and taken, so no scientific experiments could be conducted. After hearing of this incident, the Egpytian government imposed a ban on the taking anything from protected areas, and the Red Sea was one, so divers and scientists cannot find a wheel and bring it to a lab for close examining)
However, bottom line that God told me was that "No matter what happened, trust in me". I really thank God for holding onto me, even though I had doubted Him so much. And so I went on with my quiet time, and then later when I read the Bible, I saw the verses Matthew 9:20-22. In it the woman had suffered for so long, but yet she cried out to God IN FAITH. I really felt God talking to me through that verse, saying that like "Does it really matter what people say? Does it really matter if you cannot find any evidence for this or that? Does it really matter if you wont be able to explain everything? As long as you have FAITH, that is the most important." I was like whoa............. I dunno how to explain that moment in words lor!
So, after my QT I came here to post this lor. So in conclusion, what I wanted to say is that there will be times when what you believed to be true, when your paradigm will be challenged, and everything will seem to be falling apart. But this is the time that you must trust in God the most! Yea yea! :) Wooooooooooooooo, siao! I still energetic from jus now, and its already 2am! WAHAHA! Ah well, I think i better go to sleep. But before that, I have to add something.
PASS THE CHILL-LEEE!!!
